Cardiovascular surgery department

In state-of-the-art operating rooms and state-of-the-art equipment, our team of physicians with years of experience in this field is engaged in the surgical treatment of cardiac and vascular diseases. Since its establishment, the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery has performed the largest number of cardiac surgical procedures in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Cardiac surgery should be emphasized primarily by coronary bypass surgery (with or without the use of cardiopulmonary bypass, and minimally invasive procedures), cardiac valvular surgery, aortic surgery, and congenital heart disease in adults.

Of the vascular surgeries there are primarily aortic and peripheral artery surgeries, as well as operations on the venous system.

Recently, we have developed a laser treatment program for varicose veins as well as the installation of a port catheter for chemotherapy.
